Cleaner In Jordan
A cleaner at work as patrons enjoy the peace or practice Tai Chi. The traditional broom and hat still commonly used by older residents.
This is one of several published photographs that were created in this small park in Hong Kong.
It was 10:30 on a cool Saturday morning and I was lucky enough to have a few hours to myself.
Wandering around Jordan, I came across this park, smaller than most in this city but captivating. It was so refreshing and relaxing to simply sit and watch people carry about their lives. Mothers led their children to places, older men sat and gossiped, an older Chinese lady with blue contact lenses practiced Tai Chi whilst the cleaner eventually worked his way towards her.
Some would say that large cities are unfriendly and cold, I believe that how a city treats you is in part dependent on how you approach it. It was obvious that the cleaner and lady didn't know each other, however they still took the time to say hello to each other.
For this photo, I made no effort to hide my camera - Not that I could even if I wanted to. This park is one where not many non-Chinese go, yet it is how you approach a situation that will determine if you blend in, not what race you are.
